After the front nine you reach the halfway house (the starter/clubhouse rest stop). On a hot course, this single pause can make or break your back nine. Here's what to eat and drink, and how to pay.
The Halfway House — Reset for Nine More
- Hydration & electrolytes — water, sports drinks or coconut water to replace what you've sweated out
- A light bite — fruit, a simple noodle dish or fried rice and other local fare. Overeating weighs you down on the back nine
- Cool down in the shade — take off your cap, wipe off the sweat, reapply sunscreen
- Use the restroom · swap out your glove and towel
| Payment | Mostly cash (RM) or card. Drinks and snacks are small purchases, so cash is easiest |
|---|---|
| Meals on this package | 3 breakfasts and 2 dinners are included. Lunch and halfway-house drinks are typically at your own expense |
| Recommended drinks | Water · sports drink · coconut water · (after the round) a cold beer or refreshment |

Is lunch included?
This package centers on breakfasts and dinners, so lunch is often not included. Grab a light bite at the halfway house or clubhouse during or after the round, or eat back at the resort after a morning round. Check your itinerary and your coordinator's notes for the exact meal inclusions (Chapter 18).
