In Da Nang, the ride-hailing app Grab is the easiest and clearest option — the fixed fare shows in the app and the destination passes automatically even without English. For metered taxis, Mai Linh and Vinasun are the trustworthy brands; for course and sightseeing round trips, a private car with driver is the most hassle-free.

- 1. Set up Grab
Install Grab and add a payment method (card or cash) before you travel. A local SIM/data keeps hailing smooth. The same Grab account you use in Thailand works here.
- 2. Pick the vehicle
With golf bags and luggage, choose Grab Car (4-seat) or a 7-seater. For a larger group or big bags, the 7-seater is safer. Motorbike hailing (GrabBike) is not suitable for golf bags.
- 3. Pickup & payment
Check the plate and driver name shown in the app before getting in. The fare displayed is fixed (have small change for cash). Keep some small cash aside separately for caddie tips.
Courses are out of town, and you may not catch a Grab there after your round. A private car for the round trip that waits during play (half-day/full-day charter) is the safest and most flexible for storing bags and shifting times. Arrange it with the hotel concierge or your agency in advance.
Avoid taxis near tourist spots or night markets that don't run the meter and try to negotiate. There are also 'lookalike' taxis imitating Mai Linh/Vinasun colours. The surest move is to hail a fixed-fare Grab.
In short: use Grab around town, and a waiting chartered car for out-of-town trips to courses and Hoi An. With golf bags, size up the vehicle, and always keep small cash separate for payments and tips.
