The InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort is a five-star resort set on the cliffs of the Son Tra Peninsula nature reserve. Crafted by world-renowned designer Bill Bensley around Vietnamese motifs, it is built over four levels — Heaven, Sky, Earth and Sea — connected by a private funicular railway.
Why this resort stands out
The resort nestles into roughly 39 hectares of jungle cascading down to Bai Bac Bay, opening onto a 700-metre private beach. Wrapped by the Son Tra Nature Reserve (2,500 hectares of old forest, home to wild langurs), it even keeps a full-time zoologist on staff to watch over the environment. Golf, nature and luxury meet in one place.

- 1. Arrival & welcome
You're greeted at the upper lobby with a cool welcome drink and towel. Bellhops carry your bags to the room, so hand over the golf bag and luggage.
- 2. Check-in & itinerary
Present your passport to check in. At this point confirm the golf shuttle/transfer times, breakfast hours and funicular schedule. Arrange a wake-up call and pickup timed to your tee-off.
- 3. Funicular to your room
The lower the level, the closer to the sea. Ride the funicular or take a staff-driven buggy. The slope is steep, so let a staff member guide you the first time.

Breakfast — Citron & sea views
Breakfast is typically an international buffet at the main dining room, from Vietnamese noodle soups (pho, mi quang) to an egg station and fresh tropical fruit. For early tee-offs, ask the front desk in advance for an early breakfast or a breakfast box — invaluable for dawn rounds.
Club-level rooms and above enjoy complimentary breakfast, afternoon tea and evening cocktails (happy hour) in a dedicated lounge. The evening cocktail hour — cool drinks and light bites after your round — is especially good value. For a group of golfers, a club upgrade is well worth considering.
Note: at the tip of the Son Tra Peninsula, the resort sits a little apart from town and the courses (35 min to the airport, ~50 min to BRG Norman, ~70 min to Ba Na Hills). It is superb for a resort-style stay, but for a golf-every-day trip, a BRG-adjacent base such as the Hyatt Regency (next chapter) can shorten your driving.
