Da Nang International Airport (DAD) is unusually right in the middle of the city. It is a 10–20 minute drive from the runway to the beach hotels, and about 35 minutes to the InterContinental at the tip of the Son Tra Peninsula. Once you clear immigration, you step straight into a world of golf and relaxation.

Immigration at a glance
Thai passport holders can enter Vietnam visa-free (confirm the permitted stay). The process is simple, though immigration lines can be long in peak season. Agree on a contact method (LINE, etc.) with your driver or guide in advance so you can find each other at the meeting point.
- 1. Immigration & baggage
Present your passport and receive the entry stamp. Collect your golf bag from the standard belt or the oversize/special baggage counter — if it's not on the belt, check the oversize line first.
- 2. Currency & SIM
Exchange a small amount of Vietnamese dong (VND) at the airport for tips and street stalls. Cards work most places, but caddie tips are easiest in cash. An e-SIM or local SIM (Viettel/Vinaphone) keeps Grab and LINE running smoothly.
- 3. Arrivals hall & meeting
At the arrivals exit, your driver or guide will be waiting with your name or a ‘CHARM TOUR’ sign. If you don't see the sign, message the pre-shared LINE to confirm the pickup point. A private vehicle takes you straight to the hotel.
If a transfer isn't included or plans change, Da Nang Airport has reliable Grab (ride-hailing app) coverage. Hail one from the designated pickup zone (usually just outside the exit on the right). The fare is clearer than a metered taxi, and the destination passes through the app even without English. With golf bags, choose Grab Car (4+ seats) or a 7-seater.
- Passport (check the entry stamp)
- Small VND cash (caddie tips, stalls)
- e-SIM/SIM or data roaming activated
- Driver/guide LINE contact saved
- Hotel voucher / booking confirmation
- Golf bag collected (check oversize line)
Because the airport is in the city, Da Nang loses almost no time to transfers — a real advantage. Arriving on a morning flight, having lunch and teeing off in the afternoon is perfectly feasible.
