Saigon Sights & Suggested Itinerary

Saigon highlights · 23 / 23

Saigon is too rich to spend on golf alone — war history, French-colonial elegance, lively markets and a buzzing nightlife mean companions and non-golfers have plenty to do.

Saigon's signature sights

In central District 1, the 19th-century French Notre-Dame Cathedral, the Central Post Office (with Gustave Eiffel's involvement) and Ben Thanh Market sit within walking distance of each other. The War Remnants Museum, with its vivid record of the Vietnam War, is heavy but well worth a visit. At night, the backpacker street Bui Vien transforms into a lively nightlife hub.

The out-of-town highlight is the Cu Chi Tunnels — about 1h30 by car from the centre (Ben Dinh ~40 km, Ben Duoc ~70 km). This half-day trip lets you experience the underground guerrilla tunnels of the Vietnam War firsthand, especially popular with history-minded companions.

A half-day war-history tour — crawl the narrow tunnels, see the firing range. About 1h30 from the centre; wear light clothes and bring water for the heat.

Cathedral & Post Office ⛪

Notre-Dame Cathedral and the Eiffel-linked Central Post Office stand side by side — a photo spot and pleasant stroll with companions.

Ben Thanh & Bui Vien 🛍️

By day, souvenirs and snacks at Ben Thanh Market; by night, live music and street beers on Bui Vien — a fun wrap-up after a night round.

Tips for companions & non-golfersWhile golfers play, companions can enjoy the hotel spa, shopping or a city tour. Out-of-town trips like Cu Chi or the Mekong Delta take half a day to a full day, so coordinate so they don't clash with golf. Ask the guide in advance and they'll arrange a separate companion programme.

Hours and entry fees for Cu Chi, the War Remnants Museum, etc. can change — check before you go. In nightlife areas like Bui Vien, mind your belongings (phone, wallet) and politely decline touts and pushy drink offers. Some religious and military sites restrict photography — follow the guidance.
